SCRIPTUnScript are Artistic Director Madeleine Vose & Designer & Production Manager Tracey BakerTheatre Upstairs at the Globe was founded in February 2005 by Artistic Director Madeleine Vose to create a platform for the work of the region’s emerging theatre artists. In the three years since we began, Theatre Upstairs has worked with over 150 playwrights, actors, directors and theatre makers from Exeter and the south west. And welcomed over 1500 members of the public to see their work.

Upstairs at the Globe provides the ideal venue for intimate, face-to-face theatre and audiences enjoy the variety that comes with the format of 2 short plays per event often performed by two different companies. Shows have ranged from dark comedy to hard hitting drama, new writing to devised site specific work.

2007 sees the inclusion of published work in the programme by writers including Shaffer, Pinter and Shakespeare.
